Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner

Location: Chermside, QLD

Pay: $40/hr (depending on experience) + Super + Overtime

Hours: Mon–Thurs 7:00am–3:30pm | Fri 7:00am–1:00pm

Type: Temp to Perm | Immediate Start

EIR Labour Hire is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner to join a long-standing metal manufacturing team in Chermside. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll assist with the site's maintenance program while also carrying out routine jobbing, machining and fitting work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with planned and preventative maintenance across the site
• Carry out routine jobbing and general fitting work
• Perform equipment inspections, servicing and minor repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Operate manual lathes and milling machines
• Machine and fabricate components as required
• Use cutting, drilling and pressing equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders
• Complete general workshop duties
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning, Mechanical Fitting or Machining preferred
• Previous fitting, machining or maintenance experience
• Experience with manual lathes and milling machines
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability
• Confident with routine jobbing and workshop work
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Reliable, safety-conscious and team-focused
