Make sure you have all of the following with you. If you do not have these documents, we may not be able to register you for work.

- White Card / Construction Safety Card
- Forklift Licence
- Working at Heights certificate
- Any other relevant trade licences or industry certifications

- Tax File Number (TFN)
- Superannuation fund name and member number
- Bank account details (BSB and account number)
If you do not have these documents with you, we will not be able to register you for work. Please ensure all required documents are available and brought with you at the time of registration.
Face-to-Face Interview
Where to Come
If your interview is face-to-face, attend the office closest to you. If your interview is online, you will be told — you do not need to come in.

Online Interview
Preparing for a Video Interview
If your interview is via video call, a little preparation goes a long way. Follow these tips to make a great impression.
Stable Internet Connection
Join from a location with reliable Wi-Fi or strong mobile data. A dropped connection mid-interview does not create a great impression. Test your connection beforehand.
Quiet Environment
Find a quiet room away from background noise — TVs, music, other conversations, pets or traffic can all be distracting. Let others in your home know you are in an interview.
Clean, Neutral Background
Sit in front of a plain wall or tidy space. Avoid cluttered backgrounds or anything distracting behind you. Good natural or room lighting on your face makes a big difference.
Test Your Camera and Microphone
Check that your camera and microphone are working before your interview starts. Close other apps that may use your camera or slow down your device.
Dress Professionally
Dress the same way you would for a face-to-face interview. Smart, tidy clothing shows you are taking the opportunity seriously — even on a video call.
Join on Time
Click the interview link a few minutes early. If you receive a video link by email, test it ahead of time so you are not scrambling at the last moment.

What to Expect
Your EIR interview is a straightforward conversation. We want to understand your experience, the types of work you are looking for, your availability and any relevant tickets or licences you hold.
Be honest about your skills and experience — the more we know about you, the better we can match you to the right sites and roles.
If you are registering for work on the same day, the process will also include completing your employment paperwork, so make sure you have all your documents listed above ready to go.
Most interviews take around 20–30 minutes. Allow a little extra time if you are registering.

Frequently asked questions about your EIR interview
What ID do I need to bring to my EIR interview?
Bring a government-issued photo ID. If you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident, please bring your passport. Australian residents can bring their driver's licence or passport.
Do I need to bring my TFN to the interview?
Yes. If you are coming to register for work, you must bring your Tax File Number (TFN), superannuation fund details and bank account details. Without these we cannot process your registration.
What happens if I have a video interview?
You will receive a link to join your video interview by email. Make sure you have a stable internet connection, a quiet space, and a plain background before joining. Test your camera and microphone beforehand.
What tickets or licences should I bring?
Bring any relevant safety tickets or trade licences — for example a White Card / Construction Safety Card, Forklift Licence, Working at Heights certificate, or any other industry certification relevant to the role you are applying for.
How long will the interview take?
Most interviews take around 20–30 minutes. Come prepared, be honest about your experience and have your documents ready. If you are registering the same day, allow a little extra time for paperwork.
