EIR Labour Hire is currently seeking an experienced Trades Assistant to join a busy maintenance team based in Murarrie. Working within a refrigerated warehouse environment, you'll play a key role in supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical plant equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Trades Assistant with strong mechanical aptitude who is looking for long-term stability and career growth.

About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities across a range of equipment and systems, ensuring the warehouse operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and machinery
• Support servicing and inspections of refrigeration systems
• Assist with maintenance of air compressors, rapid roller doors, and dock equipment
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and schedules
• Work closely with maintenance personnel, contractors, and site management
• Monitor equipment performance and report faults
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
• Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures at all times

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Trades Assistant or similar role
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Current Driver's Licence
• Forklift Licence (desirable)
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Ticket (desirable)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and compliance requirements
